3 Star - It used to be amazing.

We have been camping at Chippewa Park Campgrounds, Thunder Bay Ontario for years. We always make a point of coming out at least once a year for our kids and grandchildren to enjoy the place as we have. Last year due to surgery, we were unable to make it out to our favorite place. This year we did and we rented a cabin instead of our typical RV lot.
Not impressed. The cabin floor was unclean. They charged $10 for linens, we refused and drove home to get ours. The cabin was $80/night. The bushes behind the cabins were unkempt and blocked the view of the river. No more coffee in the main lodge. The campfire nights our grandchildren loved 2 years ago are gone. New owners, City of Thunder Bay, is now operating it. Where did the family go that used to operate it? There were no trash bins outside to deposit your trash bags. My husband had to walk it up the hill. The City has also removed the famous old wooden rollarcoaster and a massive vacant dirt lot is left as a scar in the old amusement park.
There's plenty more. I would not suggest camping here in a cabin. If you're going to go then bring your RV or tent. You pay about $40 roughly. You won't have to worry about close neighbor proximity, obstructed view or contend with a long walk to the washrooms, and paying for linens.
