5 Star - A very nice fishing resort on Heffley Lake
|
I've stayed at the HitchnRail Resort a number of times since the Lumsdens became the owner/operators. Not in the camp site but in what I refer to as the 'cabin on the water'. Though the resort is just off the road to Sun Peaks, it is surprisingly quiet and peaceful; something which I prefer in a fishing resort. Dave, Gail and Jessica are very accommodating and try their best to make one's experience there a pleasant one. The cabin I've stayed in is clean, comfortable, adequately equipped and furnished and recently had Wi-Fi installed. The resort has various rules and restrictions they expect their guests to comply with but I've not found them particularly unreasonable as they're there so that everyone can enjoy the experience of their resort and fishing in beautiful Heffley Lake..

5 Star - Wonderful, safe, beautiful camping
|
This was such a beautiful spot, and I certainly appreciated the security and safety I felt, camping alone with my two boys. It was in the perfect location for them to practice their flat-water sprint canoe/kayak racing with Team BC; they were able to carry their boats right from the dock to the campsite, which overlooks the beautiful Heffley Lake.
The quiet and beauty of this spot was a balm. We appreciate all the hard work that Jessica did to keep everything clean and well-cared for, and for the good humor of Dave. Thanks again; we hope to see you again next summer!

4 Star - Very Enjoyable
|
The Lumsdens are wonderful hosts and the campground is on a local rainbow hotspot. Dave and his family were very helpful and a joy to visit with. Gail makes homemade everything, and her food is scrumptious. The campground is a bit rustic but is kept very clean and well maintained.

5 Star - Clean, quiet surroundings, and fun had by all.

Just returned from the Hitch N Rail Family Resort, and what a great relaxing time we had. We were greeted with smiles by the hosts Dave and Gail Lumsden. Once again the grounds were well groomed, clean washrooms, and a delightful visit. Dave seated us in the small, but roomy dining room, and Gail presented us with menus. We both had the signature Lum Burger. One half pound of home made patties, loaded with bacon, cheese, mushrooms, all on a home made bun, served with hand cut fries, what a meal. The best burger I have ever had. Dave and Gail are very proud of their family resort, and it shows. We will be returning this summer, not just for the food , but for the whole package, fishing, camping, food, and great times.
