2 Star - Quiet but not 4 star rated
|
Nice view of the ocean. No access to any type of beach.
Once you have entered the campgrounds you are a prisoner, we had
people visiting us for the afternoon and it cost them $5.00 per person
to get it and see us (talk about being in a zoo).
Don't worry folks, we will not be back nor will we recommend your
campgrounds to any of our fellow travellers.

3.5 Star - Nice but doesn't warrant the high cost
|
This campground is on the ocean with a nice view and sunsets in the evening, however the beach area is over a small cliff, very rocky and is not the type of beach you can walk on. The campground is very nice, clean and well kept however the RV sites are extremely narrow. We stayed at a time when there were very few other people in the campground, so we didn't have neighbours on either side of us. Sewers are placed within a few feet of the neighbouring site's fire pit. Consequently, when having a campfire we had to place our chairs directly over/beside the sewer pipe, which wasn't so bad because it wasn't being used....however I can't imagine doing that if a trailer was connected to the sewer.
Also, people should be aware that there is no cell service at this campground. We weren't told this until after we'd completed the paperwork and paid for our stay. We had to walk or drive about a mile up the mountain road in order to use our cell phones.
We also were not told that we would be charged an addition 3% for paying with a credit card. Besides that, there is a recycling charge of $1.50 per night. $7.00 buys you a little bundle of kindling, as opposed to actual logs for a fire. Their website states there is an additional $5.00 per person charge if you have guests visit during the day. The payment system is a bit convoluted....they have different prices for different sites even though the sites are really all in the same area. The more expensive ones are lower, but closer to the ocean cliff. The cheaper sites are higher up, so have the same view but from further back. We weren't tenting but did notice that the tent sites seemed to be quite nice...large and separated from each other with trees. Even with the discounted Sept rate, we paid more for this campground than any other we've stayed at in Nova Scotia. We didn't feel this campground was nice enough to warrant the additional costs.
