1.5 Star - Filthy, uncared for park
|
The Sandbanks area is truly unique and amazing. Unfortunalty, this provincial park is a disgrace. The garbage was every where, on trails, the beach and sites were filthy. Public showers were moldy and washrooms the worst I have ever seen at any camp ground. A disinterested teenage staff ( I seriously did not see anyone working there over the age of 20 in 4 days) doesn't help. Time someone started asking why Ontario Parks are so expensive to camp at yet are in such disgusting shape?? US State Parks are half the price and clean, well run and in harmony with the enviornment!
It's a beautiful part of Ontario, what a shame it's being treated this way. Don't know where the "friends" of Sandbanks are but they must be vacationing elsewhere this summer??
