Welcome to Fort Carlton Provincial Historic Park

Quiet, secluded unserviced camping in the scenic North Saskatchewan River Valley. Campground adjacent to 19th century Hudson's Bay Company fur trading post. See the reconstructed stockade from the 1855 to 1876 era. Site includes buildings used as the fur and provision store, clerk's quarters, trading store and more. Participate in a guided interpretive tour, learn more about the on-site tipi encampment, explore the area on your own, purchase momentos in the gift shop and discover the Visitor Centre and museum. Fort Carlton is the ideal location for a picnic lunch on a Sunday afternoon followed by a stroll down the River Walk or a hike on the Carlton Trail.
